Say What?

Sometimes I can't help but laugh at all the things my kids say. Here are just a few from a recent week at our house.

Adrienne: Mommy if someone dared you to put a balloon in the toilet who would get in trouble?

Cole was asking how we get our money and I was explaining that Daddy gets paid for working. Then Adrienne says "Mommy that is why you are always so happy when Daddy comes home because he brings you money."

Cole was asking if a family we know are going to have more children. I told him yes they are expecting another. He got all excited and said "Wow do you think ALL of them could come over one day because that would be great." Any guesses on who that family is?

Homeschool Helps

I have never used a complete curriculum for my kids school. I love to take a little bit of this and a little bit of that to create lesson plans. I am always searching the internet for new ideas and over time I have found a lot of useful websites to help with this homeschool journey. I know I would save myself a lot of time if I just bought a full curriculum but right now I believe "Mommy's lesson plans" are what is best for my family.

Here are just a few websites that have been helpful this year.

Coming up for air

That is how I feel right now.

I feel like I can finally breathe.

Most of the kids extra activities have come to an end so I am not running around from one place to the other so much. TKD is year round but we have not gone in well over a month. It is their favorite activity so it never feels like a chore to take them. When we have not been to TKD for a while I miss it just as much as the kids so I can't wait to get them back to class regularly.

So now that I can breathe again I am looking forward to all the plans we have for the coming months. I am especially looking forward to just being home with my babies. Jeremy gave me the friendly reminder that we do not homeschool our kids so that I will be driving in the car all day.

So now my days will be filled with cuddling in a chair reading, water balloon fights, playing Barbie, riding bikes, sidewalk chalk......all of my kids favorite things!

Notes to Mommy

My kids are forever writing me a little note. I will have to admit most of the time they are "Mommy I am sorry for..." kind of notes. Tonight as I was kissing my babies goodnight long after they had gone to sleep I found a red crayon and a piece of paper on Cole's pillow that said "To: Mom" here is what it said...

I'm not getting up today.
See you on a new day OK.
I love you
bye
Cole

Here it was midnight and I am walking into our bedroom laughing so hard tears are in my eyes. I think Jeremy may have thought I finally lost my mind.

I love getting notes from my babies and this is one I will treasure forever!

Groundbreaking

This morning we had our groundbreaking for The Legacy Center. The kids choir shared a couple of songs from the musical they will do in June. This will be a great "remember when" moment for all of these kids.

Cole reading Psalm 78:1-7 for the ceremony with Pastor Kevin by his side.

All the kids had their own shovels and hardhats so they could break ground!

This was after the 11:15 service and the kids have now decided it is a sandbox.
