Fall 2011

I promised myself that I was not going to put the kids in every class that comes available this year. This spring I got burnt out with all of the running around I did for three months. Unfortunately, they have become so used to all the classes that they are a little bummed we are not doing many this fall.

So here are the activities they are doing in addition to school and church activities.

Cole: TKD, Ancient Science, Cub Scouts, Piano

Adrienne: Ballet, Ancient Science, Girl Scouts, Piano

Maybe this is a lot of stuff to some people but it is the perfect amount of "extra" for us. I am still on the fence about a theater class for Cole and gymnastics for Adrienne. Maybe this year I will avoid Mommy burnout!!!

I Never Thought

I would hear my child say "Mommy when you die can I have your iPad"

I would experience an earthquake. Everyone thought I was crazy because only the dog and me felt it.

After creating the PERFECT schedule for my kids activities the Cub Scout Pack would disband causing me to find another Pack. Of course finding another Pack means different night and time which means the PERFECT schedule is out the window.

Creating a blog post about my son's injuries would cause him to have another one in less than 24 hours. Did I just do it again? Is he going to have another one?

I would be able to say no to someone even though I know they really need help. I'm setting Boundaries people.

I would be stuck in a rut for weeks of not knowing what to cook. I feel like we eat the same things over and over.

I would have a child that begs to eat spinach.

I would homeschool my children. I am the luckiest mom in the world to be able to stay home with my two amazing kids and teach them. On most days I am learning right along with them. I wish I would have learned half the stuff they are learning when I was in school.

Everyone has always told me one day Cole is going to break a bone. He loves to climb, swing, jump, run, and any other activity that involves your feet being off the ground. In the last month Cole has had a fractured toe and a possible fractured finger. He slowed down just a little with each of these injuries but not much. He is still climbing trees, jumping off the porch instead of using the steps, running everywhere he goes.....

Never a dull moment being the Mom of a boy!! Is it crazy to wish I had a few more boys running around this house?

Rufus

When Adrienne was diagnosed with diabetes JDRF sent the "Bag of Hope" which is full of diabetes stuff for kids. Along with the books was Rufus the diabetic bear. Adrienne has slept with Rufus every single night since that day (almost three years) and tonight she can't find him. Rufus is very well loved....you know flat! There will be no getting a new one and fooling her into thinking it's hers. She is still look for her bear.....this is going to be a long night.

If you see a flat bear in overalls let me know!
