Playground Fun

It is hard to stay focused on school work when it is 70 degrees outside. Today we are playing outside as much as we can. It gets dark early so we will start our school work for the day at 5:30. We are loving the mild winter this year but would like to see one snow this year. Until then we are enjoying our playground!

What's going on....

A couple of weeks ago we were able to see some friends that we miss terribly!! I love how when you get kids together that have not seen each other in months they pick right up playing like no time has passed.

I have developed an unhealthy relationship with Pinterest.

Cole has decided to drop some things and focus on his favorite things: TKD and piano.

Adrienne is getting more like her Daddy every single day. The questions she asks are not 7 year old girl questions but the kind of things only her Daddy would know how to answer.

Poor Jeremy....well we kind of skipped his birthday this year. We were so busy with the no heat for a week issue that we decided to celebrate on February 7th.

The no heat issue made us realize we use the heat way to much. We really did not get cold until the last night before it was fixed. We are thankful that the part got here a lot quicker than the three weeks we were told it could take. I am so thankful Cathy let us use her heater for that week!

Tonight I learned Jeremy is an Animal Science professor at Fresno State. I am still scratching my head on that one right along with the students who are wondering why they are getting no response to the emails they sent their professor.

I am loving studying NC History with my kids. I wish it would have been this fun for me when I was in school.

I think that is the highlights of the Henson house for the first 19 days of 2012!

Happy New Year

I may be a few days late but it is still a new year. I am not one to make resolutions that I have no chance of keeping. We have made a few goals for the year in all areas of our lives.  It is going to be a wonderful 2012 for the Henson family.

We are now trying to get back into our regular structured school time. December is always so busy that we do math, reading, and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Cole and Adrienne are always eager to start back school in January so that makes my job a lot easier. When I was talking to their piano teacher this week she said she has noticed over the years that the kids learn so much faster from January to March and I would have to agree that happens at our school too.

As always is the case you can't start back school without a few hiccups. We are having a games, crafts, read books day today.  Adrienne woke up sick this morning high blood sugar and high ketones. This of course makes her VERY sick.  She has completely recovered now and is starving and wanting to play with her brother. I have got a lot done on this "sick day" with school planning. We are doing a unit study on China next week and I have all my books together and ready to go.

Now I am off to google how to get vomit out of American Girl Doll hair.....lucky for me it is her baby twin dolls she got when she was three. If it would have been Sarah, Kaya, or Kanani you would have heard her screaming for days.

You will never hear me say I live a dull life......
